COUGARS ORNAMENT

Covington Cougars Ornament

In 1912, the first Covington High School, a three-story Greek Revival building was constructed on the corner of Locust and Court Streets. County students boarded with City residents to receive the school's more comprehensive education. Covington's industrial economy withstood the nation's depression, attracting job seekers and families to Covington. In 1940, the current Covington High School building was constructed on S. Lexington Ave. using funds from President Roosevelt's New Deal as the nation clawed out of the depression. CHS Cougars share memories of rich athletic traditions, clubs, dances, sweethearts, enduring friendships, challenging academics, caring teachers and staff that prepared students to chase their dreams. In spring of 2023, CHS will become a middle school. Covington High School will forever be remembered and COUGAR PRIDE will live forever in the hearts of her faithful graduates.
